********************** Second Call for Papers ---------------------- CollECTeR (LatAm) **********************
The organizers of the CollECTeR Conference on Electronic Commerce for Latin America are pleased to issue this Second Call for Papers to interested researchers and practitioners.
The CollECTeR LatAm Conference will be held from Monday 29 September through Wednesday 1 October 2003 in Santiago, Chile, conveniently programmed to follow the IFIP Conference on e-Commerce in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The CollECTeR series of conferences was established to link EC research centres at nine universities in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa and to form a basis for collaborative research in Electronic Commerce. Since its inception the CollECTeR group has grown to twenty institutions, including research centres in England, Slovenia and the United States. CollECTeR (LatAm) is a new initiative of this inter university research group; this first CollECTeR conference in South America is organized by the Engineering Faculty of the University of Talca in Curicó, Chile.
The organizers are particularily interested in papers that cross the bounds between the disciplines and include research in applications from non-traditional areas. Thematic areas include, but are not limited to:

Papers should be original written in English, and not previously published. All papers will be double blind peer reviewed. Papers should be submitted in Word, PDF, Postscript format. The templates are available at the conference web site (http://ing.utalca.cl/collecter). Papers should be submitted via the web form located at the site.
Local Information The Engineering Faculty of the University of Talca is located in Curicó ('Dark Waters' in the native Mapudungun language), Chile. Curicó is a rural city in the heart of the agricultural Central Valley of Chile, about 2 1/2 hours south of Santiago. The region specializes in apples, pears, berries, kiwis and is very proud of the local wines. The city lies just underneath the Andes Range and is a short drive to the Pacific Coast. The rugged Andes are a challenge to the adventurous who can enjoy trekking, climbing, cycling, rafting, or simply horseback and family excursions. The local wineries receive visitors on organized tours of the vineyards; traditional rodeos are also very popular.
October is an excellent spring month in this region; the flowers are blooming and the hills are green. The temperatures are likely to be cool in the evening (bring a sweater) and warm during the day. The chance of rain is moderately low. On Tuesday, 30 September, the conference attendees are invited to participate in a tour of the Curicó area to regain their energy for the Wednesday sessions.
